Northamptonshire has been named as one of 10 pioneer sites to test a new urgent care dashboard for GPs.
GPs in Bolton have already been piloting the clinical dashboard on their IT systems which aims to significantly cut both A&E attendances and unscheduled admissions by identifying those patients who are over-using urgent care.
The high level aim is to make the urgent care clinical dashboard (based on NHS Bolton pilot) available to all PCTs /GP consortia across England over the next two years starting with the 10 pioneer sites, including Northamptonshire.
The objectives of the project are to:
-
Inform the strategy and approach to the wider ‘local’ take-up of the urgent care dashboard
-
Develop local SHA/PCT cluster/GP consortia capability to become self-sufficient in supporting local deployments following pioneer stage
-
Support pioneer sites to obtain the infrastructure, software and skills required to leave them with an on-going dashboard capability that they are able to develop further
-
Create a toolkit to support wider take-up of the urgent care dashboard includingstandards, logical architecture, data feeds library, detailed design documentation, project management artefacts and updates to metrics repository.
