Commissioning Integrated Diabetes Care - 

Engagement Event - Tuesday 20th March 2012

NHS Midlands and East - East Midlands, in partnership with NHS Diabetes and Diabetes UK staged a free-to-attend event titled 'Commissioning Integrated Diabetes Care' in Nottingham on Tuesday 20th March 2012. 

The overall aims of the day were to:

  1. Identify variance in diabetes care within the East Midlands, and suggest ways and actions to reduce this variance and improve quality of care and patient outcomes

  2. Share how to achieve integrated diabetes solutions across primary, secondary and specialist diabetes care

  3. Update delegates on regional and national work within diabetes care

  4. Produce top-level action plans within your regional diabetes community/network

 

The event was well attended by over 60 people from around the East Midlands, with presentations and workshops delivered from 13 different presenters.

Description and Aims of the sessions

With six different sessions, a choice of four morning workshops, and an afternoon action planning workshop, our 'Description and aims of the sessions' document helps describe the benefits of each of the sessions delivered.

Action planning workshop

Attendees were asked to join with others from their region (e.g. Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire), and produce a top level action plan, containing up to 5 key actions to achieve within 5 days, 1 month, and 3 months.  The outputs of these five regions can be found below.

 

Evaluation

25 completed evaluations were received from the event.  The feedback and results from these have been collated, and can be found below.
